Sunny Side of the Doc 2026 is one of the world’s leading international markets for documentary and factual storytelling. Taking place in La Rochelle, France, from June 22 to 25, 2026, the event brings together filmmakers, producers, broadcasters, funders, and distributors from across the globe. It’s a place where powerful stories find global partners, and filmmakers find new opportunities to connect, collaborate, and grow.
This year, Bisubo Art Organization, in partnership with Alliance Française Chittagong, Dhaka DocLab, and Foresight Innovative Hub under the PICC Project, is proud to announce a call for applications from Bangladeshi documentary filmmakers. Four directors or producers will be selected to represent Bangladesh as part of the official delegation to Sunny Side of the Doc 2026.
Selected participants will receive full accreditation, attend a four-day preparatory residency in Chattogram, and receive full support to travel to La Rochelle. This includes help with visa processing, round-trip travel, accommodation, and access to all industry forums and events during the market.
A total of 15 projects will be shortlisted — 10 in the Development/Production stage and 5 in Post-Production/Rough Cut. From these, 4 projects (3 from Development, 1 from Post-Production) will receive awards and take part in an intensive mentoring program. Final selections will be announced at the Chattogram International Documentary Film Festival (CIDFF) 2026.
The selection process will be guided by a distinguished jury comprising Mr. Mathieu Bejot, Attaché for Audiovisual, Cinema & Digital Content at the French Institute in India; Mrs. Laura Briand, French Producer; Mr. Tareq Ahmed, Director of Dhaka DocLab; and Mr. Shaheen Dill-Riaz, Filmmaker. Their combined expertise in documentary filmmaking, production, and international markets will ensure a thorough and fair evaluation of all submitted projects.
