Dhaka DocLab initiated an academic platform recently under the banner of Dhaka DocSchool. The objective is to create an environment for learning the art & craft of nonfiction filmmaking for Bangladesh aspiring filmmakers. Recently, Dhaka DocSchool enrolled the third cohort for a three-month-long certificate course titled: Creative Documentary Course, which ignited a spark among aspiring filmmakers. This production-oriented intensive training program started on October 6th with twelve aspiring filmmakers as participants.
Renowned Bangladeshi & Indian filmmakers, film tutors & critics like Nilotpal Majumder, Zahidur Rahim Anjan, Humaira Bilkis, Farid Ahmed, Nahid Masud, Rakibul Hasan, Shankhajit Biswas & Mahmudul Hossain guided the participants through lectures, interactive sessions, and hands-on exercises, honing their skills in Concept Development, Research and Interview Techniques, Cinematography, Editing & Storytelling; also Ethical Filmmaking Practices.

This intensive program, powered by the expertise of Dhaka DocLab, culminated with mentoring where participants received feedback from mentors as they were preparing to make short documentaries as course production. Seven short documentary films will be produced by the participants as the outcome of this Creative Documentary Filmmaking Course.
Around two five participants already passed out of this intensive documentary training program in the last two years. A number of these aspiring filmmakers also joined Dhaka DocLab with a vision to pursue their career in nonfiction filmmaking.
